Star struck

The other night Mom and Dad took a tour up to the top of Mauna Kea.
The peak of this mountain is the premiere spot to see the stars in the
WORLD! In order to see such beauty they had to brave sub-freezing
temperatures but it was well worth it.

After viewing the sunset and getting a tour of some of the super
serious telescopes, they trekked down the mountain for a tour of the
night sky. One of the sights was a "binary star" system made up of an
older star and a younger star. The tourguide called this the "michael
Douglas and zeta-jones" system.

I am very disappointed that they did not see the Dogstar. Hmph.

Just so you know - I am doing well with Nana and Pops in Maine. Riley
is still behaving himself and is looking forward to spending the
weekend with his buddy Mr. Jack Russell (human).

Mom and dad returned to their hotel after a LONG day of padding the
Napali coast of Kuai to find this LOVELY basket in their room! The
basket was full of fruit and cookies and snackies and CHAMPAGNE! I
mean REAL Champagne from THE Champagne region of France!!! The basket
was from their friends in Boston: Todd, Izzy, Ski, Spunky, Velvis,
Liz, Sue, Floppy, Lisa, Mike, Muffy, Gator, Jen, and Jamie.

Mom and Dad have some pawesome friends!

A special thanks goes out to Dr. Izzy whose hostessing abilities
extend much farther than Williams square!

The BIG day - quattro or part D

Well as you can see the wedding day was a success!  Unfortunately, my brother the "streaker" didn't stay in his suit long enough for my mom to see him in it on the actual wedding day!  Knowing this, my mom had the idea to take our formal photos a week earlier - the above picture is the best of the bunch.

Probably by the time you all read this my mom and dad will be on their honeymoon in Hawaii.
We will be with our Nana and Pops in Maine and in Marblehead being spoiled with leftover dinner plates to lick and long walks.

But wait! What would a wedding be without cake?!!

Now look carefully...did you notice the paw prints adorning the side of the cake??  Plus it tasted deee-lish...strawberries and cream...yummmy!  (I asked for liver flavor but mom said she got to choose the flavor since she was paying for the cake - this is neglect I tell you)

I will leave you with a couple of our favorite pictures

One happy family...

I apologize that I will not be able to check your blogs while I am away with my Nana and Pops. I hope you don't mind but I have given my mom and my friend Cinnaspy permission to post on my blog while she is in Hawaii (through mobile blogging).

Thank you all for your loving comments and I will see you when I am back from Vacay!

The BIG day - part III

After getting our outfits on it was time to head to the altar.  Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of this because I can only assume that everyone was too busy staring in awe at my cuteness that they forgot to capture the moment!

Below is a picture of my brother Riley with the pouch that contained the rings (on his back).  I could have been a ring bearer too but I just felt that the red pouch clashed too much with my pink tulle and satin dress.
The Maid of Hono(u)r, LC, and the flower girl Miss Morgan (LC's daughter).
Mom's aunt sang Ave Maria to gather the group followed by Panus Angelicus for the processional.  She was a professional opera singer in Europe for many, many years and her voice is heavenly!

Here comes the bride with her parents...

The "altar" was on a large rock by the ocean.  The ceremony was presided by TK who was granted "officiant" status for the day in order to marry my mom and dad.  He did a great job!  I believe this photo was taken before the processional...
"You may now kiss the bride"...yippeee!  Riley was so good and didn't get jealous or anything! (this is not usual behavior for him)

The BIG day - part deux

After getting squeaky clean we insisted that mom have a bath/shower too since we had to endure such torture.  We ate some breakfast and then drove to Marblehead to get ready.

Above is a pictue of mom's dress and her veil - please note that mom's close friend Kristin MADE the veil for mom - it was bootiful.

Here is a picture of dad's suit - well a picture of one exactly like it from the Brooks Brothers store - there is a HUGE story behind dad's suit but I will not go into that here.
After getting purdied up (thanks Lee!) my mom was ready to go...notice her footwear? She wore Crocs to the wedding - they were her "something new and something blue"
Here is dad on his way to pick up mom.  They did some pictures before the wedding.
What a sweet couple!  mom here: you are only saying that because we feed you
Next it was OUR turn to get ready.  Dad and mom felt that this would be best to do closer to the ceremony since it was so hot.

Putting my dress on was a breeze; however Riley's suit was not as easy...

The BIG day - part one

Some of you are anxiously awaiting wedding details so without further adieu I shall begin my recount of this past Saturday to the best of my Chihueagle memory.

The day started out like any other day - Riley and I went for our usual morning walk and had our usual breakfast...but then...mom told Riley that he needed a bath!  Ha! Can you believe it! I just stood aside and laughed and laughed...poor little drowned rat boy!
I guess all of my laughter made me dirty because...

...I guess I should not have made fun of Riley after all...

A walk with greatness

First of all I would like to say that I cannot believe that my mom had the NERVE to infringe on MY blog by posting a picture of HERSELF on the wedding day.  Just because she got her new iPhone doesn't mean that she can take advantage of "mobile blogging" and start posting on my turf!  Sheesh!

Anyway, back to business...

We finally got to meet Ms. S. Brador on Friday -  thank goodness I took all of your advice and just wore my collar and a smile because it was darn hot!

Here's a picture of the initial meeting - Ms. Sophie and her person heading towards us
Ms. Brador, Riley and I walked around the Public Garden and the Boston Common...well actually I think we should call it Ms. Brador's Common; or rather Not-so-common since Sophie made it well known to all dogs that were there that day and that may be there in days ahead that SHE indeed had been there.  Sophie marked all of her favo(u)rite trees - she must have really liked the Common because she had a lot of favo(u)rite trees!
After walking through the Common we started a portion of the Freedom Trail - a trail marked by red brick that is basically a walking tour of historic Boston.  As my mom had to pick up a friend at the airport (a wedding guest) we had to cut our visit a bit short.  We were so very happy to at least spend a little time with the oh-so-famous Ms. Sophie Brador!  Thank you so much for visiting us!  We loved meeting you!

Somewhere over the rainbow

It pains me to report that my kitty sissy Pesto had to be euthanized this morning.  Her clinical signs were worsening and she had started to turn yellow.  She was a very sweet and gentle cat. My mom is very sad but knows that the right decision was made.

Not a thing to wear!

As you all know Friday is the big day - the day that I get to meet Ms. Sophie Brador!!!  I have no idea what to wear!  I could wear my Patriots (TM) jersey as shown above.  Or I could wear my Wirestock t-shirt shown below.
Unfortunately I think the shirt makes me look chunky...I blame my mom because I think she ordered the wrong size!
I could wear this festive dress...
But alas!  It is supposed to me 90 degrees out...so maybe I will just wear a big welcoming smile!!!

Update:  My sissy Pesto is no worse but really not better either.

...only ONE more day...

My sissy Pesto (sad news)

I just found out tonight that my sissy Pesto is very sick with diabetic ketoacidosis and likely underlying pancreatitis.  My mom noticed that someone (a kitty) was having "accidents" and figured that Pesto was the most likely suspect so she decided to run some routine blood work. Anyway, as good ol' Murphy (of Murphy's law) would have it, when mom checked on Pesto's results tonight numerous values were way off the scale.  The good thing is that she is not acting as sick as the story of her blood says she should be.  This has come as a complete shock as her blood values were normal (except her thyroid) just a few months ago when she was treated for hyperthyroidism.

Please cross your paws for my sissy...and my mom...

Arte-y-Pico award from Petey

I got this pawsome award from Petey the other day.

In accordance with the rules I am passing this award on to the following five blogs: Agatha & Archie, Lenny, Sophie Brador, Girl Girl, and Clover.

In accordance with the rules set by Arte-y-Pico I must clearly state THE RULES...so grab a pawtini and make yourselves comfy...here you go...

1) You have to pick FIVE blogs that you consider deserve this award for creativity, design, interesting material and also contribute to the blogger community regardless of language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited.

3) Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given him/her the award itself.

4) Award winners and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of the "Arte-y-Pico" blog so everyone will know the origin of the award

5) In compliance with said RULES, the award winner must show the RULES.

pheww!
Thank you again!!
Pee-ess: My mom saw this dog (above) the other day at work...it is a Beagle Jack Russell terrier cross...I think that it kind of looks like a combination of Riley and myself...kind of...

Pee-pee-ess: I apologize if I haven't been able to keep up with your blogs as much as usual.  It is really "crunch" time before the wedding and my mom is keeping really busy and won't help me with my blog (I cannot type as well as she can).

...only three more days...

Parlez-vous francais, Hercules??

Ici est Hercules un beau...okay that is the extent of my french for tonight...anyway, here is Hercules a very handsome "Frenchie" that lives down the road from me.  Mom, dad2b, Riley and I were on our way out for a walk when mom spotted this handsome dude.  Actually, she practically accosted his parents to ask if she could take some pictures of him!  How embarrassing!
Look how contemplative he looks in the above picture...and...notice the Boston Red Sox collar!

After a few photo-ops this little white fluffy dog came by to say hello.

Awww...it looks like Hercules made quite a few friends tonight!

...only six more days...

Horrified

So there we were waiting patiently in line at the Apple store.  We had waited for an hour with mom & dad2b and finally, yes FINALLY, we got into the store....and then...Riley decides to "claim" the Apple store for his own if you catch my drift.  I am simply horrified.  So now we are waiting OUTSIDE the store with mom while dad2b waits patiently inside the air conditioned store.  Thanks a lot Riley.

Riley here: What??  I am just excited for you to get an iPhone - that way you can keep up with your blog friends from wherever you are!

A celebrity is coming to town!!!

         photo: courtesy of www.sophierulestheworld.blogspot.com

A celebrity is coming to town!!  A celebrity is coming to town!!  Do you know who this IS??  It is none other than Ms. Sophie Brador!!  Ms. Brador and her treat provider will be coming to BOSTON next week!

We will be meeting up if Ms. Sophie can clear some time in her schedule - you know how busy celebs are!  At this time my people are in contact with her people.  This is a picture of her beauty from my perspective.
                                           photo: courtesy of sophierulestheworld.com

Do you think that she will pack her sock monkey?
                                               photo: sophierulestheworld.com

Oh!  Will she like me?  What will I say?  What will I wear? Oooh! I need to book a peticure and maybe some highlights with Petey and Asta...so much to do to prepare!
I wonder if she is dreaming about her trip??
                                                  photo: sophierulestheworld

pee-ess: All of the above pictures were taken by Ms. Brador's pawson.  Thank you for letting me borrow them for this post!

Addendum:  Oh no! I just realized that I am going to have to keep a close eye on my mom cause she's a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey fan and I have suspicions that Sophie's mom is a Canadiens fan.  My mom better be on her bestest behavior!  I think that I will refuse to be her ring bearer if she embarrasses me in front of Sophie or better yet maybe I will eat her wedding band or maybe I will have Riley pee on her wedding dress...so many options...

...nine days until the wedding...eight days until we meet Ms. Brador...

Please sign my guest book. Woof.
