St. Anthony's feast

This weekend was the weekend of St. Anthony's feast in my neighborhood. The festivities culminated in a BIG parade with lots of people and this statue being hoisted around the city's Italian section.  Every once in a while it would stop and people would attach $1 bills on it.

Wow. That St. Anthony must have been one awesome dog...

Wooo- look at all that money! Did they have lots of lovely Italian food to try at the festival? We could of shared a bowl of spaghetti like the doggies in Lady and the Tramp.....Mwah!

I had no idea there was a feast for St. Anthony! There's a day of the year called the Feast of St. Stanislaw... while I'm no saint, I'm hoping to someday have my own feasting celebration day. I will call it "The Grand Super Delicious Meaty Feasting Day." Would you help me celebrate it?

And now he is a very rich dog with all those dollar bills! Did you get any treats at the festival? Maybe some gelato?
