Secret mission (aka Mission Possible 2008)

Boy, oh boy! It is our day off...okay mom's day off...and we're on a secret mission.  Come on mom stop taking pictures and let's go!

ooops! Wait...I have to take care of some business first
Come on Riley quit sniffing and peeing on everything - everyone knows that it is your 'hood
On our way to the car we met up with Kiki (below).  Kiki is now starting to feel a little better - her best friend crossed the bridge a few weeks back...
Okay, we're at the parking facility...hellooo! Mom hurry up and open the door...
Usually we run into Al on the way to work - this is his desk - he has this impression that we do not bark!  Silly, silly, man...no, seriously actually he is very nice...we are just surprisingly well behaved around him (ed. that's because he's not a dog!).  Hey where's Al?
There he is! Hi Al!
okay, into the elevator we go...
In the car now and off for our secret mission!  What is 'said' secret mission you ask?  Well if I told you I would have to...well you get the idea...I promise that I will reveal the secret at a later date...stay tuned...

Fenway's Box 'o Fun! fun! Fun!

Look! Look! Look!  I got a package from Fenway!!!

Okay, let me try and open this baby...
How many licks do you think it takes to get to the center of a goodie box??  Seriously.
This is taking FUR-ever....MOM!!
Oh cool!  Look at all of this stuff!
...I need to take a much closer look...
Let's see a container that holds poopy bags...oh, that is for my mom...Fenway, she says thank you!  You know once she ran out of bags and had to pick up the poop with her mitten!  Luckily there was snow on the ground so she could make a giant snow-poop-ball...but that is a story for another day...

Ooh! A note from Fenway...
Yee-ha! A squeaky hotdog toy!  Lemme see it!

What? There's more?

Oooh! A green ball that mom can put treats in...hurry up mom! Put a treat in it for me!

Back to the hotdog squeaky toy...
...I am getting tired...let me lay down for a little nap....

...zzzzz...thank you Fenway.....zzzzz....

A sad day.

I just found out that my old neighbor and friend Shadow is no longer with us.  He was diagnosed with kidney failure a couple of months ago and seemed to be doing well but last week he took a turn for the worst.  Shadow was a very happy and energetic Sheltie who was rescued as a young boy from a shelter in Michigan.  He had many great years with his human family, feline siblings, and his canine brothers Riley (yes! same name as my brother), and Kolby who "crossed the bridge" last summer.

My brother, my departed sister Bagel and I met Riley, Kolby and Shadow the summer of 2003 when we moved next door. I have so many fond memories of the six of us going on walks and zipping around the neighbor's yard causing shenanigans wherever we went!

While I know in my heart that Shadow, Kolby, and Bagel are at peace chasing rabbits and rolling in stinky things in Dog heaven this is very hard for me because I know how terribly the family is suffering their loss.

woof.

Goody Exchange/Apology to Dewey

Guess what I did today?!  I finally mailed off Dewey's goodie package!!

Mom here...ummm...why don't you explain WHY it was mailed a few days later than intended?  Maybe you should also apologize to Dewey?

I'm sorry Dewey...Okay, mom that was just a little misunderstanding.  You see the other night when dad2b was in charge of locking up he "accidentally" left the bag with Dewey's goodies on the floor.  So I thought I would do a little "quality control" check on the Bully sticks - I was only doing this with Dewey's best interests in mind, honestly!  I don't know what the big deal is.  Anyway, apparently QC was not a good enough reason to be checking out Dewey's stuff and mom had to go back the treat dispenser store and buy more treats.  Heh, heh she played right into my plan...

Quality control central:
Fast forward to today...Riley and I are at the steps of UPS:
"Excuse me, I will need a box for Dewey's goodies."

"I have to fill out a form!? Mom!"

Waiting patiently to have the box packed and labeled:
Check out this treat dispenser!  Popcorn comes out of it...funny, very bland tasting pink popcorn, that is.  I should convince mom and dad2b to get me one of these - I think they should fill it with kibble or cookies or ice cream!

Hey there little kid! Get your paws off of Dewey's goodie box!

All ready to go!  Bye! Bye! Goodie box!
Again, please go visit Angel Lacy's mom and give her your love and support...

Ice cream - finally!

Mom & Dad 2b felt so guilty about not bringing back Ben & Jerry's ice cream from Vermont last weekend that they decided to take us to our other favorite ice cream place - Emack & Bolios!  Yippee!  I was so excited!  I try to tell my parents that Emack & Bolios is so close that we could walk there everyday...but, for some unknown reason, we sadly do not.

Here is a picture of all the cool flavors that you can get.  My mom's favorite flavor is "grasshopper pie" which is like chocolate mint ice cream with OREO COOKIE pieces in it.  My mom also likes their version of "Cake Batter" ice cream which has yellow cake batter with chocolate cake batter/icing swirls and the occasional piece of cake! We have a pint of this in the fridge. Yummy!  Dad 2b usually gets something like "Raspberry Truffle" or "Deep Purple Cow," however today he got something with Coconut in it (Coconut Crunch I think).
I usually get vanilla flavored frozen yogurt ice cream - I am closely watching my figure so that I fit into my dress (for the wedding) properly.  The Emack & Bolios where we used to live used to put a milkbone in the doggy sundaes; this store was not as progressive.  Boo.
Above is a picture of Riley and I eating our ice cream in tandem - what a team!

Here's Riley - chowing down:

Here I am eating my ice cream ever so daintily:

Oops! I knocked it off of the bench and on the ground!  Waste not want not!
I finished my ice cream in no time!  I LOVE ICE CREAM!!!  After I finished my treat I had to wait for my slow poke parents.  I got a little bored so I thought that I would start digging a hole to practice for the hopes of doing Junior Earthdog.  I kind of got in trouble for this and then we had to leave - I guess gardens are not for digging?  Who knew?  This makes absolutely no sense to me - besides how am I going to train for Earthdog; I mean, I am not even allowed off lead in the alley anymore!

Here is a picture of a cutie pie we saw on the walk home:

Addendum: We just went over to Angel Lacy's blog...please go visit and lend your support, wisdom and love to Claudette.

Girls night out.

Woo-hoo!  It is time for girls night out.  I managed to get in a little cat nap before heading out for my, I mean our, big night.  Above is a picture of me & mom before our special dinner.

Boy was I excited when I saw our transportation for the evening - a FUR-RARRI!

But then, mom told me that this car was not for us; we would be walking because the restaurant was two blocks up the road. Geesh! How could I walk on the unevenly paved streets when I just painted my nails and buffed my pads!

On the way there we ran into our friends KY and LC.
LC is the Matron of Honor and was the organizer of our fun filled evening.

Mom & I shared some yummy lobster ravioli.  There were a total of SIX ravioli which meant by my math that I should get FOUR pieces and she should get two.  Instead my piggy mom ate FIVE and a HALF pieces!!  She obviously was not taught "Chihueagle math" where she went to school in Canada (eh!?).

After dinner we went to the Living Room martini bar and McFaddens where we met up with some other friends.
The "girls only" portion of the evening ended at a place called Beer Works where we met up with dad-2b.  Dad 2b was there waiting for us and playing pool with some of our friends with male parts.
Here is a picture of mom & dad-2b.

Dad was wearing this ribbon that indicated that he won the "Grand Prize" by getting my mom. He gave my mom a ribbon that indicated that she won "Second Prize" because she is marrying him...he is so silly!
Jeepers!  What an evening!
...some Sunday flowers for Asta's family...so happy to hear that your daddi is home!!

Please sign my guest book. Woof.
