In a flash....they were gone.

...and they waited...and they waited. Until, one December evening, the "green flash" occurred. About an hour before this picture it looked like conditions would be ideal for the flash. In anticipation my dad 2b put two drops of the magic concoction into the dread pirate cat's dinner. The picture above was taken about an hour later - click on picture to enlarge and see the beginnings of the green flash of the sun. The picture was taken moments before the actual flash. To read more on the phenomenon of the green flash click here. To view a REALLY cool video of the green flash occurring by the Golden gate bridge click here. Now back to the blog...please note that if my mom stayed around to take the next shot my parents would not have had time to escape the dread pirate cat. In fact, right after this picture was taken my parents took advantage of the pirate cat's drunken stupor and ran away into the night...and into their freedom.

So long! Dread pirate cat! meow.

Freedom tail. Part II

The pirate pug was very knowledgeable and very helpful with creating a plan to escape the dread pirate cat. He told my parents to formulate a secret potion made with the nectar of the "cotton candy" flower (shown above) ...and the crushed flesh of the fungus-amongus plant...

and the feces of the stretching long-legged bird...

topped off with 3 prickly things from the phallic cactus plant.

Once these ingredients were formulated into the potion only two drops were needed to stun the dread pirate cat for 30 minutes. The one caveat was that the potion only worked during the night of the "green flash." So, in the still of the night, my parents mixed up the exotic concoction and they waited...

Freedom tail.

After several days of servitude to the dread pirate cat, my parents decided that it was time to think of an escape plan. Unknown to the pirate cat, the very container that held the treasure "Cinna-spy" also contained a note with how to summon the all knowing, (not-so) dread ex-pirate pug. All they had to do was to rub together two dog bones (or reasonable facsimile) and think really hard about a juicy T-bone steak. After a few minutes, and much salivation,(remember my parents hadn't eaten much)... POOF! the ex-pirate pug appeared to help my parents plan their escape.

Arrrgh! Did someone say treasure! (STJ part V)

After having his/her fill of food, the dread pirate cat decided to send my parents on another adventure to seek buried treasure in the Caribbean. The treasure - to find the googly eyed member of the "fingerspy" family - the google eyed "Cinna Spy."
At first my parents decided to search for the googly friend in the water:

Fish Friday. (STJ part III)

While imprisoned by the dread pirate cat my parents were forced into indentured servitude. His/her first demand was that they provide him/her with food; and being a cat, his/her first request was fish. The pirate cat was not specific on what kind of fish he/she desired so mom and dad 2b provided a variety, hoping that something would please the palate of the cantankerous kitty. We didn't start the fire.

My mom told me that the dread pirate cat forced them to ingest this strange concoction as seen above. Not only is it a potent amnesiac but it also is extremely useful in putting out island fires. The Pirate cat says that he/she makes it with the blood of Yankees fans everywhere and when ingested the drink causes one to lose all sensibility and memory - hence the reason why my parents forgot to pick us up from "day camp" for several days. Once my parents lost all of their "devices" they were maintained in a stupor (more than their usual, that is) with daily doses of the following drink called "rum". This is apparently a popular drink; utilized by pirates everywhere.

We're all saved!! Arrgh.

After a long and arduous week Riley and I have finally been saved!! Mom came to rescue us today. I was so excited that I even forgave her when she showed up sans hamburger. How could I not forgive her after hearing about the ordeal that she and dad 2b have been through over the past week! Mom still seems shaken up over it; and dad 2b was so distraught he couldn't even come to pick us up. I was only able to extract bits and pieces, but from what I could understand it seems that mom and dad 2b were kidnapped by the dread pirate cat (pictured above). He/she is always on the prowl which is why it is an action shot. Additionally, no one actually knows who the dread pirate cat is since he/she is always donning the black "mask". Apparently mom and dad 2b were parent-napped and forced to go to the Caribbean. Once there, they were made to endure several hardships and were forced to perform many tasks for the dread pirate cat. Most of which revolved around feeding him/her. Over the days to follow I will elaborate the various tortures that my parents endured. For the time being I will leave you with a picture of the view from their cell which overlooked the ship that the dread pirate-cat lives on (below).
